Special thanks to Praise Assembly of God and the Alum Creek Lions Club....both for hosting appreciation dinners for our department. We enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with our citizens and the great food. Please remember and support your local volunteer firefighters!
Recent News....
ANNOUNCEMENT: We were recently awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant through DHS for $69,987. These monies will be used to purchase an SCBA compressor/fill station and new bunker gear for our firefighters. Also included is money for training to help our new firefighters meet current training requirements. This is a great achievement and we are very excited and grateful to have earned this award. The finishing touches are underway at our Sod location. .....more info!
UPDATE - Work is underway to finish the new fire station at Sod. The new site is located on Midway Rd. just south of Cobbs Creek. This new fire station will serve the immediate communities of Sod, Sumerco, Garretts Bend, McCorkle and assist us in providing mutual aid to other departments. We look forward to providing a more efficient emergency response to these communities and lower insurance premiums.

The Alum Creek VFD is currently accepting applications for all types of membership. Please check out the membership section for details on each type of membership available.
Joining a volunteer fire department can be very rewarding and will provide an opportunity for you to make a difference in the community. Volunteers are special people that come from all walks of life but share in common goals. Most volunteers want to help others and see their own lives grow with the excitement of achieving goals. The Alum Creek VFD needs volunteers for many different positions and activities, you don't have to fight fires to serve on our department.
